CANTERBURY KENNEL ASSN   SHOW WEEKEND   FRI & SAT 11 & 12 NOV 2011
BACK to BACK CHAMP SHOWS (2)
Judging commences in ALL rings at 8:30am both days (Fri & Sat)
reporting time 8am

SPONSORS:

Canterbury Kennel Association is extremely grateful for the wonderful
support and continuing generosity of ADVANCE.

GATE DONATIONS:
A gate donation of a gold (or silver) coin would be appreciated
(towards the maintenance & upkeep of the grounds) - all those
donating will receive a ticket for Lucky Numbers drawn throughout
each day.

CATERING:
Catering all weekend is being provided by the  official Catering
Shop - hot & cold food available - pies, chips, sandwiches,
cakes, etc.   This shop is now operated by Lisa and Brent McGregor.  
Please remember NO `for sale' catering is permitted on the grounds.

MORNING TEA:
Morning Tea Break will be taken at APPROX 10:30am in  all rings both
days.

LUNCH BREAK:
Lunch break will be taken at APPROX 12:30pm in  all rings both days.

CLUB RAFFLES
A raffle will be sold both days on behalf of CKA
fundraising, to enable the maintenance and improvements to continue
at the venue. A wonderful prize donated by Tornado Industries to the value of $1400.00

IMPORTANT:
We ask all parents to remember that their children can tend to get
very bored during a long weekend of shows.   Please supervise your
children and know their whereabouts at all times and ensure they are
not using the building and/or the toilets as a playground - remember
you are responsible for any damage they cause.   There is a
children's playground available for there use.

CHILD & JUNIOR HANDLERS:

                              

                                                 YKC STAKES –  Saturday

As per NZKC Regulations. Three classes 8-11 years, 12-15 years, 16-24 years.

Will be held on Saturday during the lunch break. Entries will be received prior to or on the day at the office.

 
Child Handlers classes will be judged during the lunch break on
Friday.   Entries are FREE - just listen for the
announcements.

TENTS:
NO tents or spikes (including umbrella tents) are permitted on any
grassed area within the perimeter seating.   TENTS (for camping &
grooming) may be erected (at your own risk) anytime during the week.

RUBBISH:
There are plenty of rubbish containers around the grounds.   Please
pick up your rubbish and dog droppings and help keep our grounds tidy

VEHICLES
Due to the large number of exhibitors on the grounds this weekend
please note that the Club reserves the right to remove any tent,
caravan or vehicle not parked in the areas designated by the
Custodians.   All designated walkways are to be kept clear at all
times.   Please note that Vehicles are NOT permitted on the grassed
area within the perimeter seating.

CAMPING
Campers are always welcome at our shows.   Please see our Custodians
on your arrival for your pre-booked sites.   Some Caravan & tent
sites (without power) are still available.   The 'Stirrers Arms' is
available for communal use by campers & has power, water, zip,
fridge.   Please note that Camping fees to cover costs of utilities
are as follows $10 per night if using powered sites, $5 per night for
non-power sites.
Please note that Club rules require that all dogs must be kept on
leads at all times.
 

PEDIGREE VETERAN  STAKES  &  GRAND VETERAN STAKES:   Will be held at
12:30pm on FRIDAY. (INSIDE)   These featured events will be judged by Helen Weil (QLD) and have SEVENTEEN (16) VETERANS (7-10yrs) & FIFTEEN
(21) GRAND VETERANS (over 10 yrs) entered.   We hope that you will
support these 32 Golden Oldies from yesteryear with your applause.  
There are 5 placings in each section & all other entrants will
receive a small gift.

BEST IN SHOW:
BEST IN SHOW - Will be judged in Ring 2 by  Mrs. Mary Hickie (NSW)
on FRIDAY and in Ring 2 by Mrs. Helen Weil (QLD) on SATURDAY.

PEDIGREE /McDONALD RENT A CAR $1000 ALL BREEDS PUPPY STAKES:
TOYS 10; TERRIERS 14; GUNDOGS 20; HOUNDS 12; WORKING 6; UTILITY 18; NON SPORTING 17 = 97 ENTRIES
The Heats for the All Breed Puppy Stakes will be judged at the conclusion of each group in their own ring.
 The FINAL of the PEDIGREE/McDONALD RENT A CAR $1000 Puppy
Stakes will be judged in Ring 2 by Mrs. Mary Hickie (NSW)
immediately PRIOR to the Best in Show judging on SATURDAY.

OTHER ALL BREEDS STAKES CLASSES (FRIDAY & SATURDAY)
Will be judged in Ring 2 at the conclusion of the Best in Show (Fri)
& (Sat).
